Superman and Satori

Here are some collage works I executed. The first 2 images are from "Man and Superman" suite done in 1989. I documented a performance of me "putting on the ritz" in Lethbridge. Like Nietsche's "ubermensch", I am king of all I survey. Juxtaposed to the ideal mass media images of masculinity found in fashion advertising.

The "Satori" suite was done in 1993 after completing my MFA and based upon a trip to Tofino and beautiful Long Beach, British Columbia.

Vancouver Suite

In 1991 I lived in Vancouver and this series inspired by the contrast between the ideal forms of modernist architecture contrasts with the lushness of nature.
